I help clinicians, researchers, and other health care professionals improve patient care. One of my more interesting projects involved a hospital in Asia that had no plan to handle medical emergencies. So I designed the crash cart, wrote the protocol manuals, and trained the staff just in time for them to save their first emergency patient.

• Writing, collecting data, and managing projects for human intraocular lens clinical research studies and regulatory affairs protocols for submission to the US Food and Drug Administration for Ioptex Research, Inc. (Irwindale, CA)

• Editing materials used to train caregivers of blind patients in developing countries for Helen Keller International (New York, NY)

• Developing, writing, and editing respiratory and pulmonary physiology manuals and other teaching materials used in critical care courses for medical, nursing, respiratory therapy, and medical technology students and staff at Erie Community College (Williamsville, NY) and Buffalo General Hospital (Buffalo, NY)

• Researching, writing, and editing medical and medical technology talks, reports, and papers at Buffalo General Hospital

• Writing news pieces, writing and delivering talks to health care professionals in the US, India, and Nepal regarding delivery of ophthalmic and optometric patient care in India for Shanti Mangalick Hospital (Agra, India) and Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity

• Designing, writing, and editing emergency protocol, emergency treatment manual, and other training materials for Aravind Eye Hospital (Madurai, India)
